The game begins with you waking up as a passenger on the doomed Liner Alpha, a passenger spaceship that is crumbling apart from an attack from an unknown enemy. As the game player makes his way through the dark, smoke-filled halls, you pass many other passengers who are either fleeing for their lives or hiding from the attacking robots.
You eventually reach the cargo hold where thousands of people are crammed in order to escape from the attack. As luck would have it, the ship’s mechanic, Sam, is also hiding in here and is able to repair the ship’s escape pods and get them working again. You both agree to pilot one of the pods and manage to escape just as the Liner Alpha explodes behind you. You land on a nearby planet, though not the one that you originally intended to reach. This is where your story begins… You will play through a single character’s point of view at a time. This allows for a great deal of mystery and suspense, as you are never quite sure what any of the other characters are up to or what alliances they may form behind your back. At the beginning of each story arc, you will draw a Character Card that will give you details about that character, including their moral alignment (good, neutral, or evil), their traits, and their objective for that particular storyline arc.
