Alex, as he is commonly known, has had a difficult life; losing his mother at birth, and being raised by a single father with a penchant for getting into trouble. However, things are about to take a turn for the better; Alex has recently graduated from the local warrior academy and is ready to step into the role of head guard of the settlement of Tasomachi.
During his first patrol, however, Alex stumbles upon a black mist which suddenly appears, separating him from his father and the rest of the guards. Trapped inside a small hut with an old woman and her daughter, Alex is about to discover that this mist is actually the edge of the Twilight realm and that he is somehow connected to it and its denizens – the Akuro. Together with the old woman’s daughter, Nana, Alex must fight his way through the mist and discover what exactly his father is doing inside the Twilight, and why these demons seem so intent on destroying the human world…
