The game is set during Operation Enduring Freedom and features fictional UN mission scenarios with mostly realistic weapons and settings. The storyline follows the squad of a US Army Ranger named Hunter.
Brief storyline overview
The game begins with a flashback mission during which US Army Ranger, 2nd Lieutenant William H. «Hunter» Adams, and his squad track and eliminate several high-ranking Taliban commanders in the mountains of Afghanistan. After the successful mission completion, Adams receives word from his commander that one of his friends, Staff Sergeant Daniel Semmes, has been injured in a subsequent operation. Tasked with evacuating Semmes to a field hospital for medical care, Adams and his squad are ambushed by Taliban forces. Adams is knocked unconscious and Semmes successfully assists in Adam’s wake-up. Semmes then fights off the attackers long enough for the squad to evacuate the area in a helicopter. Semmes succumbs to his injuries, and Adams is devastated.
